We just learned of the devastating news that one of the Echelon, Justin McNeley, was found dead in Afghanistan after being MIA for a week. He was a loyal soldier, friend, and son, who will not be forgotten.

Justin made the below video for the THIS IS WAR project and I wanted to share it with you all, in his memory.

Our sincerest and deepest condolences to Justins’ family and friends.

Rest In Peace

Justin was my brother in law and i just wanted to say thank you for putting his video on your web site. it helps me to see it spread the more it spreads the more i still get to see his face. he was a great man and it means alot to see him still touching people from where he is life isnt the same without him.

Justin was my Grandson, and one of the finest young men you would ever meet..he was honest, sincere and loved everyone he came in contact with. We, the family are so proud of him, he is our hero. He was sceduled to come home in 30 days and our hearts are broken…he left two young boys, 6 and 9 who he adored. Our world will never be the same without him, he always had a smile on his face and was never too busy to talk to his Grandma, we talked almost every morning while he was in Afghanistan. I miss him so much but know that one day we will all be united…

Sending a Prayer up for Justin's loved ones left behind to Help them fill the void in their hearts with the focus of the wonderful memories they shared.

Allow them to feel the comfort and gentle encouragement of God's Angels whispering that their Loved One is safe and happy with God.

Please nourish them with God's love and give them the strength and will to carry on.

    Soldier's Prayer

Hearts are heavy now, dear Lord

    For WAR is looming there.

Our prayers are calling out to you,

Our thoughts too much to bear.

Be with our loved ones–THEY NEED YOU.

Guide them, lead them, see them through.

Bless our leader, for we know,

He asks Your blessings, and needs them so.

Protect the innocent, shield their lives,

As bombs and missiles streak the skies.

Open our hearts and fill us with grace,

Guard our loved ones in that place.

This I say, in earnest prayer,

    THANK YOU LORD

    I know YOU'RE there.

So brief, but God knows our hearts

and feels the pain for all of us.

Our military, our president, we who wait at home and those innocents whose lives are in harms way too.

I can barely watch the news,

but am drawn to it all the same.

This prayer is on my lips and in my heart,

    almost every minute.

    GOD BLESS AMERICA,

    and all of your children,

    wherever they are.

I am Justin McNeley's 75 year old Grandmother. No finer or braver man ever walked the face of this earth than Justin. I have a few choice words for Ralph Vanches…but instead, I will sum it up in one word for you Ralph…you are a "coward". Do you think it makes you a man to sit in front of the computer and bad mouth our service men who are fighting to uphold peace. Get off your ass and show your courage. I love and miss you Justin, my heart is broken.

Thank you for sharing Justin's contribution video… It's so sad to lose a loved one to war. I lost my cousin last year. To Justin's family: While the days may seem the darkest of the dark eventually their will be light… may you hold onto the happiest of memories.

I can speak for myself and hopefully the rest of the Echelon when I say I'm proud that Justin was part of our army.

  • Bonez

It´s so sad……Uh I know, he is with GOD now and he´s above us flying with white birds..Singing songs of a better world…Juntin still to be one of echelon…

    PLEASE NO MORE WAR :(

THE WAR IS NOT GOOD!! ONLY KILLS TO THE INNOCENT

  • shit

yes..it's so sad becaaaaause…the day that never comes.

  • Ralph Vanches

    He is not a hero…

a hero is the one who fights against violence.

Invasions, political interests and money over life?

Justin you are just one more dying for others richness.

And for you patriotic american reading this: think on the people you affect by becoming a soldier (on a good and bad way).

    Sad.

    Rest IN PEACE.

"a hero is one who fights aganst violence.'

what do you think we are doing over here?

show some respect for someone who had the balls to defend your stupidity.

    • Emilia

You Sir, have no understanding and an appalling basis for your argument. Once you have experienced Civillian AND Military life (I am Ex Forces), you won't realise how one sided your argument is!

      Grow a pair.

    • BB

How insensitive of you to post that here where Justin’s family will read it.

Unfortunately the US can’t afford to help protect innocent people from terrorist forever and they may win in the end. I hate to see what happens when the US leaves Afghanistan.

there is a race of humans

we born from the same mother.

    but we are different

    the one race is nothing

the other are the masters of the universe and the sky is their home.

I am a Soldier and I’ve lost a very good friend in Afghanistan a few years ago…
The Pain and sorrow may never go away but the good memories will give you strength.

We should also think about those who are lucky enough to survive. They'll never be the same again.

My own brother was in Afghanistan twice. Now he has panic attacks, is on medication and needs councelling. He has really hard time returning to normal life and is now divorced. He regrets ever going to Afghanistan.

    BRING BACK OUR TROOPS.

    • Echelonnononono

I'm sorry to hear about that.

It is very true that some of those who suffer the most, are those who survive.
