Shot by Bartholomew Cubbins (also known as 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto), “Kings and Queens” is one of the few videos nominated for an award this year that doesn’t contain complicated special effects or wacky animation. Rather, “Kings and Queens” features little more than a small army of people riding around bicycles through abandoned streets in downtown Los Angeles, which sounds simple but is remarkably arresting. There’s something truly electric about the images that Leto captures, which is a testament to his abilities as a filmmaker and video artist.

For some reason I keep having the same vision come to mind when thinking of the entrance they will be having tonight. Wonder if the new bike is going to make an appearance. I dislike watching awards, cause half the time to me, they are tasteless, but I have to watch these for no one else other than 30STM!!!! I really hope they win. If not, the people at work tomorrow are not going to like me one bit!

the commentary is so true. Jared created his own realistic creativity to this video just like closer to the edge.(wich should also get a nomination) This is true filmmaking, without all that animation crap. Well done bartholomew. I truely enjoy your videos.

Jared Leto (aka Bartholomew Cubbins) is a real visionary w/ a beautiful soul. He is a true gentleman and lets the fans (Echelon) know we are appreciated. Lyrics from his head, then put onto paper, then set to music and ending on film, his words are powerful and have meaning behind them. He is a TRUE TALENT of our time!!
